As I was driving to work, it dawned on me that I need and want a getaway. Normally we are heading down to Sanibel Island this time of year, escaping the cold and snow to the warmth and sand. That’s not in the cards for us this year though 😦 (Kinda sad that I had 3 weeks off in December and I’m already thinking of a vacation…) Luckily, this road trip I’m planning won’t take place until summer time, sooo I have a while yet.
Road Trip Stage 1: Minnesota to Washington
This is only the beginning stage so I still have a lot of planning and researching to do. What I’m striving for though is to start through North Dakota, go through and stop at interesting locations, travel through Montana (I’ve been dreaming of going to Montana forever!), and then head straight for Washington. First I’d love to visit Tonga Ridge, (first heard of through Bri in her blog), then go to Olympic National Park. After that go down and stay in Seattle, then head on over to Mt Rainier National Park. I wanna drive over to Wyoming (YELLOWSTONE!!), then go through South Dakota (BLACK HILLS!), then come back to the wonderful state of Minnesota! 😀
Like I said, I have A LOT of planning to do… and frankly, a lot of exercising as well. A lot of this trip, will be either hiking and/or walking. I can do this! It also requires a lot of sitting too, but I’ve done road trips before… From North Carolina to Minnesota and from Minnesota to Colorado! (Colorado to Minnesota too, but I had viral meningitis so I was passed out in the car thee entire time… not a good car trip!)
